Product Description

The White Boar was the personal device of King Richard III (2 October 1452 – 22 August 1485).
Beneath on a scroll is Richard’s personal motto which reads (reputedly in his own hand)
Loyaulté me Lie ; (Loyalty Binds Me)
The Anglo-Norman motto of Richard III, would have been used at court during Richard’s reign.

Historically, leather drinking vessels were lined with either boiled Resin of the birch tree, Brewer’s Pitch, or Beeswax. Our full grain leather drinking vessels are lined with an epoxy resin to echo the historic use of resin whilst having the visual appearance of Brewer’s pitch. The resin we use is fully certified for use in both the food and alcohol industries.

Hand Carved Richard III Tankards & Jacks are available with a stitched detail around the base.
