Hand Carved Yorkshire Rose

The identity worn by the Yorkist forces during the Wars of the Roses and later incorporated with the Red Rose of Lancashire by Henry Tudor. Henry V11 joined the two opposing factions when, after defeating Richard 111 at the Battle of Bosworth, he became king and married Elizabeth of York.

The white rose and red rose together became the Tudor rose still used in English Heraldry.

The White Rose continues to be the emblem of Yorkshire.
