The identity worn by the Lancastrian forces under the leadership of Henry Tudor in the Wars of the Roses.
When Henry defeated Richard 111 at the Battle of Bosworth he became Henry V11. To unite the warring forces Henry married Elizabeth of York and combined the symbols of Red and White roses into the Tudor Rose, still used in English Heraldry.
The Red Rose continues to be the emblem of Lancashire.
