Hidebound leather drinking vessels

A unique range of leather drinking vessels historically based yet adapted for contemporary use. We offer several period designs, the Viking Thumb Beaker, Medieval Jack or BlackJack as it was known and the Tankard based upon the shape of those found on the wreck of the Mary Rose.

The Jack, although originally medieval, continued in constant use until the the time of the Crimea although the Tudor version has more recently become the accepted tankard shape.

During the past three years we have made a limited edition of the Victory Boot, a vessel used on board ships at the time, to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar.  The edition is now complete, but see the listing for alternatives.

HideBound leather drinking vessels are intended for use by anyone who can appreciate fine ales, cider or wines consumed from attractive, interesting and durable vessels, as well as historical re-enactment groups, who wish to enjoy drinks from vessels appropriate to the age they portray.
