Knot work interlacings are
peculiar to the Pictish school of Celtic Art. The intricate,
mathematical and abstract designs exist because the imitation of
the works of God (whichever one) was forbidden. Until the
Christian era even vegetation was forbidden as motif to the Pict.
As a symbol of continuity, interlacing knot work is found on
stones, metal work, and manuscripts. Differing geographical
areas have distinctly differing styles.
Celtic Square Knot. Shown as both dark brown on green and dark brown on tan.
Rim Knot. Shown as dark brown on tan but is also offered as dark brown on green.
Both designs are offered in either colour combination and on either a jack or tankard body
