Who Are HideBound?
Hidebound Ltd is the result of a business partnership between Stephen Roberts and Gillian Sewell, based on the High Pennines in Upper Teesdale.

The area, at the conjunction of Co. Durham, North Yorkshire and Cumbria, was, centuries ago, part of the ancient kingdom of Northumbria, meaning all that land north of the Humber.

| Gillian was formerly a teacher and Stephen a Chartered Surveyor, callings very different from the hand craft which we now enjoy. |

We are both totally self taught tankard and jack makers and are forever bouncing different ideas between us in our quest for unique, high quality, hand-crafted items which also have a practical use. |

There is a local community web-site for the village of Bowes, which also provides information on the local area, a context to our work with traditional crafts.
